It is with regret that I advise that the Even It Up! site will be shutting down. Information will be left as is until June 2010, but nothing new will be added. At the end of June, the site will be shut down and taken offline.
While I started this site with intention of making a very real difference to jobseekers, the reality is that it is very time-consuming to maintain, and no income is generated from the site to allow for growth or sustainability.
I thank everyone who has contributed to The Lowdown, the Forums, commented on the Blog and publicised the work of Even It Up! in any way, shape or form.
The work of Even It Up! will continue via the blog, however, and you can access this at http://evenitup.wordpress.com
Employers and recruitment companies often have the balance of power, with jobseekers forced to comply with the processes of the recruiter - even if they:
Even It Up! aims to shift the balance of power for the jobseeker by providing information - from other jobseekers - about the recruitment processes of direct employers and recruitment companies. Information is knowledge, and knowledge is empowering!
The Lowdown
The Lowdown tells jobseekers which workplaces and recruitment companies treat their jobseekers fairly and with respect - and which don't. Best of all, the information on the The Lowdown is FREE! All you have to do is register to gain access.
And in this time of instability and uncertainty, Even It Up! gives you a voice. You have the opportunity to tell business whether they get it right or not, and we urge you to submit your story here.
The sheer volume of voices means that employers and recruitment companies will simply have to sit up, take note and change their practices. And they are!
So don't get mad, get Even It Up!
